Bulloch Hall

The Bulloch Hall in Atlanta is an impressive Greek Revival structure built in 1839. This historically significant building listed on the National Register of Historic Places was where US President Theodore Roosevelt's mother Mittie Bulloch lived in her childhood. It is also the place where Mittie married Theodore Roosevelt Sr. father of Theodore Roosevelt.

Along with being an impressive structure, the house has a Willis Ball design and it is described as a fine example of true temple form architecture of the south. The floor plan of the house has typical period features which include a lofty entrance hall at the centre with each side having equal number of rooms.

Authentic period furniture furnishes the Bulloch Hall beautifully. The house includes a Museum Room consisting of family history. The grounds have summer house, privy, museum shop, reconstructed slave quarters, gardens and wells.

The aim of Bulloch Hall is to accurately preserve and restore this nationally significant historic site and present its authentic interpretation to all the visitors and Roswell citizens through quality tours, community events and educational programs. The house and its grounds are alive throughout the year with special exhibits, events and programs.

The house is open to public on Mondays to Saturdays between 10 am to 3 pm and Sundays between 1 pm to 3 pm. Tickets are required for admission in the house while no tickets are required for touring the grounds, gardens or outbuildings. This Atlanta travel tour to the house begin every hour and the last tour begins at 3pm.

Bulloch Hall and its Museum Shop are accessible to visitors on Atlanta GA travel with disabilities. Throughout the property, paved and unpaved pathways are present with limited accessibility for wheelchairs and strollers. For most of the exhibitions taking place here, there is availability of large print reading materials. Also, the Tour Summaries are available in English, Spanish, French, German and Japanese.
