The Grant Park in Atlanta is the oldest park. It comes fourth in size, only after the Chastain Park, the Freedom Park and the Piedmont Park. When one visits this park, there are two major attractions. One is the Zoo Atlanta, which was formerly called Grant Park Zoo and the other is the Atlanta Cyclorama. The Zoo Atlanta was established way back in the year 1889. Nearly two million visitors visit the Grant Park annually.

The Grant Park was established in the year 1882 by an engineer, Lemuel P. Grant. He gave 100 acres of land to the city of Atlanta and the city later acquired another 44 acres. The park has been named after the engineer. The area which surrounds the Grant Park is old and historic. This area is one of Atlanta's oldest neighborhoods. This neighborhood also contains the remnants of the house of Lemuel Grant.
