Guide to Parking Facilities and Fees at Piedmont Park

Piedmont Park is proved to be a gem in Atlanta. When you need an escape from the busy city, Piedmont Park is a wonderful retreat to pay a visit. Many transportation methods are available for visitors to get to Piedmont Park, including public transportation mode MARTA. You can also drive to the Park if you prefer. Before driving to Piedmont Park, you need to be clear about its parking facilities both in and outside the Park.

Where to park your car in the park? The old parking lot at Piedmont Park - Surface Lot has been returned to green space. Operated by the Atlanta Botanical Garden, the new SAGE Parking Facility is now open and available for tourists to both Piedmont Park and the Botanical Garden. Its detailed address is 699 Worchester Dr NE Atlanta, Georgia 30306.

With six and one half levels, SAGE Parking Facility is nestled into a hillside adjacent to the Hardin Visitor Center. It provides safe parking for Piedmont Park visitors. You can find beautiful planters and trellises with foliage. This eco-friendly and human-based parking facility reduces the heat-island effect common to asphalt parking lots. You can even see a kinetic sculpture, Airborne while parking your car. The sculpture is a great highlight of the facility.

SAGE Parking Facility opens from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Generally, it operates 365 days per year. It means that you can park your car at the deck any day in a year, including all holidays. There're 765 parking spots in the facility. You may find it difficult to find an available parking spot on holidays. Remember this parking facility is handicap accessible. Handicap parking spaces and elevators are available to provide convenience for the handicapped.

How to enter the parking facility? Piedmont Park visitors are encouraged to enter SAGE Parking Facility through a new entrance off Monroe Drive onto Worchester Road. Then you can enter the bottom level of the deck via a new tunnel.

Piedmont Park visitors can enjoy free parking at the deck for less than 15 minutes. You'll be charged $0.75 for parking from 16 to 30 minutes. Each additional 30 minutes will be charged $1. For example, a two-hour visit to the park will result in a parking fee of $3.75. You can find the price is well below the average parking rates in Midtown. What about a day-long parking? The maximum daily rate is $15.

How to save on parking fees? If you frequent visit Piedmont Park, consider a Multi-Visit Parking Pass. A great thing about this pass is that it can speed access to both the park and the garden as well. Multi-Visit Parking Cards are valid for one year. One exception is select special events such as major festivals in Piedmont Park. You need to pay for a flat parking fee during select events. You're offered a 20% discount at the 5 and 10 time parking visit levels.

The economical Multi-Visit Parking Card can be bought at Botanical Garden's Gift Shop if you happen to be there. You cannot get any refunds or replacements for lost or stolen parking passes.

Some nearby parking lots are also available for Piedmont Park visitors. But you need to walk some blocks to Piedmont Park after parking your car.

Woodruff Arts Center Parking - You can park at the state-of-the-art Parking Garage. Three parking lots are available. Lot A is the1280 Peachtree St. Woodruff Arts Center Garage with a parking rate of $12. Lot B - Promenade Parking Garage charges $10. You need to pay $10 for Lot C - Boys and Girls Clubs Parking Garage.

Midtown Plaza Parking - Midtown Plaza has enough parking lots for visitors, including North Lot, South Lot, Underground Lot, West Lot and Sears Lot. You can locate Midtown Plaza Parking at 1360 Peachtree St. NE # B2, Atlanta, GA 30309-3222.

Nearby Hotel Parking - You can also park your cars at nearby hotels, like Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta and W Atlanta Midtown Hotel. You can choose valet parking or in-person parking.
