Mellow mushrooms was started in 1974 by three college students in Atlanta. They wanted to offer something different to their customers. So they bought a beat up store and started serving a variety of beers and pizza. Their popularity grew among college students and today they have over 100 restaurants spread across 15 states. Unlike other chain restaurants, Mellow mushrooms doesn't follow the same standardized decor either, each of their restaurants is a touch different.

What's on the menu? Though they specialize in pizzas you will also find a variety of salads, calzones, grilled hoagies and deli hoagies. The pizzas are served in three sizes 10″ small, 14″ medium and 16″ large. If you can't make up your mind with one of the pizzas on the menu then you can take a look at the list of ingredients and build your own unique pizza.

The wide selection of beer on offer here is second to none. They offer 20 to 40 draught beers and 50 or more bottle beers. Each store has a different variety of beer, as they keep a unique set of locally brewed specialties. Overall, across all the stores they offer more than 600 different beers.

Entertainment is regularly provided by live bands that set up their equipment to rock the place or by occasional trivia competitions that keeps everyone on the edge of their seats.

Not all restaurants in the chain offer home delivery, however, for ones that don't they make up by offering a pick-up entrance.
