Savannah Seafood Festival

The original event titled Savannah Seafood festival was the creation of the Waterfront Association and the Visitors Bureau of Savannah. The event, mostly scheduled in the month of May featured a series of booths from local restaurants offering a wide range of menu samples. As the name of the festival suggests, the focus of the festival is on sea food and apart from varieties of fish, visitors were presented with an opportunity to taste other items like crabs, crawfish, shrimp etc. The festival also presented live music and an arts and crafts show.

In recent times however, this festival has moved into multiple venues. Consequent to a film shoot featuring a fictional ‘37th Seafood festival’ in “The Last Song”, in Tybee Island, the Islanders have taken the cue and are hosting an annual seafood festival replicating the film scenes and adding further fervor.
