Weather Info
There is a popular belief that Savannah has only 2 seasons, the warm season and the hot season. But, from a tourism perspective, Savannah does enjoy four distinct seasons that you can experience during your Savanna GA travel.
Spring is heralded as the best time to visit Savannah. March and April are particularly important because it brings along all the magnificent blooms. Half a million people visit Savannah during the St. Patrick’s Day which is followed closely by the hugely popular ‘Tour of Homes and Gardens’ which the Savannah Music Festival and Christ Church sponsor.
The spring breaks for schools also aid this large flow of visitors. The flow of tourists tend to thin down during May. The weather during this period is comfortable for all age groups and freezing is rare beyond the middle of March.
Summer in Savannah runs from June to August. Though this is a hot and humid period, the beaches on Tybee Island and the Savannah family travel are adding to the popularity of this season. Come the first day of August, and you will find most tourists leaving Savannah largely because they need to get themselves ready for the “back to school” routine. Campsites during this period are not viable and can be brutally hot.

The Fall season running from September through November is by far is the busiest season in Savannah. Yet this is also the best period if you are looking for budget travel or juicy bargains. The weather will continue to be hot and humid and most of the travelers you meet in Savannah during this period are headed for Florida to enjoy the winter months there.
December to January marks the winter season in Savannah and during the first three weeks of December, most hotels and restaurants will be vying for the patronage of every visitor who travels Savannah. Tourist inflow into Savannah is at its lowest ebb during this period. But for the handful of tourists who do arrive, it is a sea of coupons, promotions and discounts.
But, once the Christmas week dawns and up until the New Year things can be dramatically different particularly because of the school holidays. Though January and February are relatively from a traveler perspective, hotels generally are full because of the seminars and conventions popular during this time of the year.
