There are a number of historic buildings on the premises. The Atlanta History Museums has 12 exhibits. 6 of these are permanent exhibits. These are The Turning Point: The American Civil War exhibition, The Shaping Traditions: Folk Arts in a Changing South exhibit, The Down the Fairway with Bobby Jones exhibit, The Centennial Olympic Museum, The Phillip Trammell Shutze: Atlanta Classicist, Connoisseur, and Collector exhibit and The Metropolitan Frontiers exhibit.

There are a number of beautiful gardens on the grounds. One can spend leisurely hours walking around the beautiful, serene grounds soaking in the sublime natural beauty of the Atlanta History Center at the Mary Howard Gilbert Quarry Garden.
